The Micronesia Regional Office (MRO) situated in Kolonia, Pohnpei, Federated States of Micronesia (FSM), is the main hub for SPC's projects and partnerships with the Micronesian members of the Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI), the Republic of Palau, and the United States territories of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI), and Guam. The MRO opened in January 2006.
The role – the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Assistant will provide essential support to the EDA Programme in implementing its Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning framework. This role focuses on assisting with data collection, verification, organization, and reporting to ensure accurate tracking of programme results. The MEL Assistant will help maintain monitoring schedules compliant reporting requirements. Working as part of the EDA Programme Coordination Unit, the MEL Assistant also collaborates closely with State Facilitating Agents and Grantees to ensure that data and documentation are well-managed and readily available for programme decision-making and reporting.

Contract Duration – This position is budgeted until 29 February 2028.
Remuneration – the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Assistant is a Band 6 position in SPC’s 2025 salary scale, with a starting taxable salary range of USD 28,047–35,058 per year, plus local staff benefits. An offer of appointment for an initial contract will be made in the lower half of this range, with due consideration being given to experience and qualifications. Progression within the salary scale will be based on annual performance reviews.
Benefits for Staff in a position advertised internationally (EPAL) whose duty station is Pohnpei –– SPC provides medical and life insurance for eligible employees. Employees are entitled to 25 days of annual leave. Provident Fund and/or Social Security will be according to FSM’s local legislation.
